Just north of Farmington, (42 miles from Cottages) is Crown Winery
Just east of Farmington is an amazing park called Pickle Springs, and Also in the Farmington area, is Missouri wine country with about six wineries and St. Joe State Park.
Fredericktown (42 miles from Cottages) has the new Vance Vineyard and winery.
Eight miles south of Fredericktown is Green's Flea Market, the best flea market around. Many bus loads of tourist stop here for great finds. There are also Fred's Antique and flee market mall in the same area.
In the Arcadia Area (20 miles from Cottages) there are many antique shops and The Civil War museum, as well as Bobby Powell's Jamboree. Heading south on 21 towards Annapolis, is Taum Sauk Mountain and Mini Sauk Falls, as well as the Mini Royal Gorge.
In Annapolis you are only 5 minutes to the Black River with lots of water-based activities for the whole family (ideal for floating!), and 18 miles to Clearwater Lake, 18 miles to Sam A. Baker Park, and 11 miles to Taum Sauk and Mini Sauk Falls (highest falls in the state). And all within 30 miles are Elephant Rocks State Park, Johnson Shut-ins.
